ROMA, 12 DIC - Sarà lo stadio del Borussia Dortmund ad ospitare la gara di ritorno dei quarti di finale della Nations League tra Germania e Italia, prevista per il 23 marzo 2025. Lo ha annunciato la federcalcio tedesca (Dfb). "Dortmund è il luogo ideale per quello che è diventato un classico del calcio - afferma in un comunicato il direttore sportivo della Dfb, Rudi Voeller -. Vogliamo sicuramente raggiungere per la prima volta la Final Four della Nations League contro l'Italia a marzo, e per questo abbiamo soprattutto bisogno del sostegno dei tifosi. E quello che arriva da Dortmund è tradizionalmente importante". Al Westfalenstadion, ora 'Signal Iduna Park', impianto da 82.000 posti, si giocherà tre giorni dopo la sfida dell'andata, che si svolgerà nello stadio milanese di San Siro. Nello stadio di Dortmund si giocò anche Germania-Italia semifinale dei Mondiali del 2006, che gli azzurri vinsero 2-0, con reti nei tempi supplementari di Grosso e Del Piero, lanciandosi verso la finale di Berlino.
